Book presentation

This is the memoir of a volleyball coach who, during her career, also coached the women's national teams of Iran and Pakistan.

This is the memoir of a Western woman who encounters and clashes with an Arab and Islamic culture that is not homogeneous across countries in its application of norms concerning the lives, behavior, and bodies of other women, but which also has elements of unity.

This is the memoir of a Woman.

And even if, like me, you are not passionate about volleyball, it doesn't matter. Not only will you feel deeply involved in the story of the protagonist and the athletes she interacts with, but you will also understand the value of sport, a universal language that conveys inclusion, team spirit, the promotion of equality, the value of sacrifice, and the acceptance of defeat.

This is a testimony of great cultural, social, and anthropological value on the conception of women in different Arab countries, in terms of economic power, resources, and the application of rules derived from the Koran, but with a common “women's issue” whereby athletes train with their heads covered and their bodies covered, sweating buckets, and are not taught to rebel, complaining, or the concept of choice, of being able to choose how to be.
