The museum was opened to the public in June 2009, after 3 years of renovation works in the old sawmill. Located within a nineteenth century mill. On the top floor, there is an old log carriage with a saw that is powered by an electric flywheel, an example of the gradual introduction of electricity in Val di Peio. The machinery within the sawmill began to run on electricity only after the war. Within the museum, there are several rooms with antique furnishings made by artisans. There is also a scale model created with authentic materials that shows the entire Val di Peio with all of its unique cultural sites.
